இலங்கையின் நிலைப்பாடுகளை அவ்வப்போது இந்திய அரசுடன் பகிர்ந்து வருவதாக வெளிவிவகார அமைச்சின் செயலாளர் ரொமேஷ் ஜயசிங்க தெரிவித்தார்.
இலங்கை – இந்திய தலைவர்களுக்கிடையில் நெருங்கிய உறவு நிலவுவதாகவும் ரொமேஷ் ஜயசிங்க குறிப்பிட்டார்.
அரசாங்க தகவல் திணைக்களத்தில் நேற்று (12) நடந்த செய்தியாளர் மாநாட்டில் அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த சமரசிங்கவுடன் வெளிவிவகார அமைச்சின் செயலாளரும் கலந்து கொண்டார். அப்போது இலங்கைக்கு எதிரான சர்வதேச ரீதியாக முன்வைக்கப்படும் கருத்துக்களை முறியடிக்க இந்தியாவின் உதவி நாடப்பட்டதா என்று செய்தியாளர்கள் கேள்வி எழுப்பினர்.
அதற்கு ரொமேஷ் ஜயசிங்க பதிலளிக்கையில், இலங்கையின் கருத்துக்கள், நிலைப்பாடுகள் தொடர்பில் எந்நேரமும் இந்தியாவிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளப்படுவதாகத் தெரிவித்தார்.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa it is learnt has requested Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunge to explore the possibilities of giving all large scale projects due to be given to foreign countries, only to China and India.
It is also learnt that it has been requested to pay special attention to handing over most such projects to China.
Sources from Temple Trees said that Weeratunge has appointed a secret Technical Evaluation Committee to study the matter.
It is reliably learnt that Construction and Engineering Minister Rajitha Senaratne is unhappy with the President’s decision.
However, the President’s decision to hand over most of the large scale contracts to China has reportedly been influenced by Basil Rajapaksa.
It is believed that Basil has intervened in this programme as the Chinese law does not have provisions to prevent the handing over of bribes to middlemen in contracts in relation to construction work and the export of related material.
